On Traditional Music

A while ago I went to an Indonesian Arts and Crafts Exhibiton where there were some folks playing traditional music. One of them was a kolintang ensemble, (which I don't know from where it originated from, although I'm certain it's from somewhere in Java.) consisting of a percussion and strings.

I'd just like to say, after stopping to hear the noises, that I realized what was it that was so amazing about Traditional music.

It's their simplicity to describe emotions. They don't go all the way to another continent and turn back around to where they started to say "I'm happy", but they just go straightforward, look you in the eye, and say: "I am happy."That's what makes traditional music so cool, methinks.
